The 2023 Newfoundland Dog Club of Canada National Specialty is fast approaching and we're busy planning a fantastic event. In addition to it being the 60th Anniversary of the NDCC, it's the first time since 2019 the Specialty has been held in Ontario. As always, the event will be a wonderful chance to reconnect with old friends, welcome new faces and see plenty of gorgeous Newfs.
We all know that Newfoundlands are an extremely versatile breed. They can move seamlessly between the show ring, the obedience ring and a lake. Here's your chance to see them do it all in one place!
The National Specialty is the main event for Conformation on Saturday but there are also four additional sets of points available in the Oakville Kennel Club all breed shows. Bring out your youngsters and your seasoned pros to compete in Sweeps as well!
After a summer of training, what better place to earn your WRD title than the National Specialty! Taking place on the Thursday, our water testing is just 20 minutes from the conformation site so plan on getting wet and watching our favourite breed do what they do best.
Come out and see that Newfs are more than just beauty! Our National Obedience trials will take place on Friday, September 8. As a working breed, they excel at Obedience and its beautiful to see the bond between handler and dog.
Whether you are a fan of Conformation, Water Rescue or Obedience you can show your support of our beloved breed by sponsoring an award. All donations are sincerely appreciated and acknowledged in our show catalogue.
