Grooming Your Newf

Grooming your Newfoundland is a very important task that needs to be done on a regular basis.

Kaila Everest of Sea Fever Newfoundlands put together a pamphlet that walks you through all of the grooming tools you need and how to use them. This pamphlet can be found in the Reference Documents section below.

Kaila's Must Have Grooming Tools

  1. Slicker Brush - Flexible slicker easier on the wrists
  2. Line Comb
  3. Rake
  4. V Rake Mat Picker
  5. High Velocity Dryer
  6. Scissors - Straight, Chunker, Thinner, Blunt Tip or Clipper for cleaning out pad fur

Selecting a Groomer

Selecting a groomer that knows how to properly groom a Newf is critical. They need to have the ability to manage a giant breed dog and know the risks associated with them. It is very easy for a Newf to become injured or overheated.

Check out the Newf Friends Grooming Safety Tips blog for more details.
